Yeah they are big for just sliders. Rollers not so much.
Compared the the MHR build, this thing seems slow haha. I need to ride next to a Di-Tech 70cc to get a better feel for it's performance.
aren't there cylinders with spec's in between the MHR and the current one ?
something that would throw a solid, reliable and commute easy 10HP ?

Yes, there are lots of choices in between them. But this is the only one with a dual ring piston. I wanted something that I can run WOT for as long as I want. This cylinder is a proven champion. Other options like Top Performance Trophy cast iron cylinder (mid race) is another option. If I ever decide to change and get a little more acceleration from, I might switch to that. But for right now, I'm super happy.
It's one of those situations where I go WOT from a light and lean forward expecting the huge burst of speed and 13,000 RPM like my old build. It was difficult to keep the front end down, But then the scooter doesn't rev past 10k and I kind of lean back up thinking how silly I must have looked. lol
I think I would still take a 70 Di-Tech off the line though. It does have more power. When it's warmed up, it doesn't have a problem laying some rubber on the ground at a stop sign!
So who local is going riding with me so we can test some things?
oh me me me.. nothahah
bet we here from Jamie next)

After riding home today, my memory came back of the speeds I use to travel with my Di-Tech 70cc. I would reach certain mph by certain signs, base of hills and crest of hills and so forth.
Today the Sport PFI hit the exact same speeds. I need to tune the tranny something fierce. When I go WOT, the RPM reaches 10.3 perfectly then slowly goes downand will continue to go down.
Unlike how it's suppose to be where you are at your WOT RPM until the transfer of pulleys is complete and then the RPM is suppose to go up!
5.1g rollers with purple contra, WOT, RPM went to 10, held for short time then went down.
5.1g rollers with white contra, WOT, RPM went to 10.3-10.4, held for little time then went down same as above.
Cruising at 45 mph then going WOT the scooter barely picks up. You have to slow down to lower speeds then go WOT to get the RPM back up into 10+ range to move.
The Purple contra spring has been greatly used.... it was on the build when I had the MHR. Thought I needed a stiffer contra so I installed a Malossi white that was new. But still not cutting it. Wondering if I need to go stronger yet. The RPM dropping really steals away the power.
That seems odd.. so your RPM's should never drop?
How much does it drop? do you have the stock spring? that is I think the stiffest you can get.
Correct, while under WOT, your RPM should never drop. This is a mix of trying to match rollers, contra to the exhaust. This exhaust HATES anything below 10k. So alot of it is when the RPM drops below 10k, the power drops off drastically causing the RPM to drop further and faster.
0-40 mph, RPM = 10.3k
40-45 mph, RPM = 10k
45-50 mph, RPM = 9.5k
50+ mph, RPM goes to about 9k.
Although I can hit 55+ on flat pretty easy. If that makes any sense.
Malossi red is the stiffest I believe.
Yes I have the stock one.
that is a pretty good drop.. could it be part of the tuning done with the PFI Curves? almost a 1300rpm drop.. Where do you get a Red contrast spring?
Is it this?

I will ride with you soon. We are packing for a big move right now so time to ride is tight. Plus I still dont have the roost pipe on yet so we wont be anywhere close to each other. If you are just looking to see what a standard 70cc to yours would be then we would be in the ballpark. This zx pipe holds it back quite a bit.

I thought about that option yes, but I'm not familiar with the PFI enough to answer that question. The fuel is delivered according to RPM, I know that much. I'm not sure if that contra you linked would work. The part number I need is a Malossi 297064R, the one at HGT is 297046RO. I don't know the difference.
JamFred, my acceleration is equal to what my Morini 70cc with LeoVince ZX was.
