cam rattle i think ??? please help

Well ive just 2 days ago bought a 05 plate 14000 mile old strada with some history to comute the 50 mile round trip to work each day, she is in good condition but when i arrived back home from work today, after a 25 mile ride i heard that the top end / cams seems a little rattley/ tappey its not over loud but you can clearly hear it if you get down on your knees is this normal or should i return it to the dealer as i have three months warrenty,

you know how it is with a new bike it takes time and miles to get to know how she feels and sounds and to trust her not to let you down its probaly me just being paranoid or is it

    I have the same thing

I am too interested in this problem because mine too has this problem from recently, it just turned 20.000 km when rattle started, but mine sounds more like crankshaft bearing is RIP

    Sorry for late reply,
but if anyone is interested, it turned out that rattle sound was made by loose crankshaft nut, it looks like they forgot to put threadlocker while assembling engine or did not put enough Nm on the nut :/
Local bike mechanic opened engine and repaired it. Total cost of repair work 35-40$ + He even saved old oil from the engine since it barely had few hundred km since last change
    Regards from Croatia

Have you checked your valve clearances? While my bike is close to 100,000km, the motor is quiet when warm although a little rattley when I first start it.

Mine can be noisy too and always from the top end. Tis a big single!

Good to hear good mechanicing in Croatia for a fair price.

I hope to be back to the Balkans in 2014, a wonderful place!

    Cheers people
