Rev limiter question.

I have noticed that at around 6000rpm I think the rev limiter may be cutting in but im not sure if it is that or perhaps a fault.
4 gear 6k the engine cuts for a split second and the red triangle light comes on. if I close the throttle a little all is well.
Is this the rev limiter. seem a bit harsh to just kill the power like that. any thoughts?

the limiter should work on 7k RpM … the light maybe is simply the signal to set a higher gear: this can you set yourself:
mine is at 7500 so i'm sure i'll never see the light ;-)

Thanks for that, is it correct that when you hit the rev limit it just cuts the power like a kill switch until you fall below the limit, it seems very harsh?

almost: most similar at a 'no-fuel-situation' than a kill switch
(I mean that aprilia shuts up the fuelpump on limit)
a little bit inertia is there anyway and on the stand you can let him 'shout' till 7500 RpM …
