Check the four main ground wires connected to the rear cylinder, two on each side.
Also ck the white connector under the tail cowl, should have two 12-gauge red/white and black wires.

Checked them and there is nothing alarming or that looks amiss...
I would like to not have to drive down to your place, Amauri, but I will do it if I have to

Funny. Had the same issues with my -07 T last week. Started up just fine, after a few miles it just "stumbled" and died. Did so a few times and also lit the red triangle, tacho was acting odd and so on..

Did a full "after winter sleep check over", disconnecting every connector, cleaned and polished every surface of ground and positive leads and fitted it all back together. Took a 100mi ride after and checked out just fine. Just looking at connectors, or even giving them a good pull won't always do the trick...

Has someone mentioned the infamous in-tank fuel hose?...
When exiting the corner I suddenly ran out of talent and fell off the bike.

Yes I mentioned that on the third post.
A simple fuel pressure test will eliminate all guess work about the fuel lines in the tank.

I think that is my next step - to surgically inspect every connector and hose.

I have the fuel pump assembly out and it looks great - nothing appears amiss and the symptoms do not indicate a problem with the pump, although I'm certainly not ruling it out. I just don't have another one to put in to test. But again, I don't think this is my issue.

I am, however, hoping someone can offer a particular sensor that might cause similar problems so I can test it. tps has been checked but that's it.

edit: Amauri was apparently writing at the same time! ha... The hoses and clamps all appear in great condition, and there is no evidence either on the hoses or on the sock of any deterioration. I am going to replace the filter for fun, but since it a. looks pristine, b. a tach jumping 500-1k rpms shouldn't have anything to do with fuel pressure and c. runs 100% when flat out (at least when not in limp mode), I am ruling it out.
Yes, a fuel pressure test would confirm it, but since that is not an easy thing for me to test as I would have to rig up some sort of device that I don't have, I will pass.

With work taking me away from home a lot, and a new kid keeping me out of the garage a lot, it's taken me a while, but I might have my old bike back.

My guess is gummed up injector(s) but i don't want to put too much stock in that...

I rode it without the pc on it (because it went into limp mode with it) and it definitely had some holes in the power band and some rough spots. I kept riding it though here and there and they were getting better.

I decided to refit the pc unit to see if it would behave any differently and got a chance to the other day after it had been sitting for a week or so. It fired right up and sounded great - better than without the pc. and not in a real noticable way, but it just revved cleaner and idled smoother. maybe some of that was psychological, but it sure seemed to help.

But then the triangle came back on and I was frustrated and disconnected the pc again. Then I remembered that I had disconnected the airpressure sensor under the seat when I was routing the wires, and sure enough, I forgot to put it back on. but left the pc unhooked. It fired up and the warning light went out but was back to its rough ways.

I re-connected the pc and it once again fired and ran much smoother but (with the sensor hooked up) no light.

I took it on a ride and it was brillant. The only issue was that it still died a few times while idling. Not nearly as predictable or as often as the initial problem months ago, so I got to thinking about what problem would cause the bike to run rough and die frequently and then get better over time of riding and i thought maybe fouled injectors.

So I got a can of bg 44k after reading a lot of great reviews and dumped a can in and have gone through about half the tank. It is definitely running a lot better than it was, and has not gone into limp mode like it did before with the pc hooked up. I suspect I just had a bad connection when i was hooking it up before. There is a possibility that I forgot to hook the ground up to the unit (as someone suggested) and I doubt I didn't (would it even work?) but whatever the case, I haven't done anything other than ride and it's getting better.

I would much rather spend $200 replacing a faulty component instead of it seeming to fix itself, but at least it's ridable again.
