Nooooooo... Sounds like the snorkle has been removed from the filter if it was running a 78... With a LV TT and de-restriction you should need a 64/66ish main jet.

If you remove the air box/ filter and look down the pipe that connects from it to the carb there should be a snorkle that reduces down the size off the pipe.

Can you tell me what snorkle you are talking about because as far as i can tell nothing had been changed by the previous owner so i wonder why it had a 78 jet. Do you think that considering my bike did 50mph with the standard exhaust and 78 jet, i should get an even bigger one like an 84 hence the leovince zx i put on?

There is a snorkle inserted into the airbox, it reduces the bore off the pipe and there for the amount air that can flow through, With this removed you'd be looking at about a 70-80 main jet with it in around 55-60...

With the pipe question, No by the sound the bike needs re-jetting and the needle clip moved as a stock de-restricted bike should have a 50-55 main jet not 78

What does your plug look like? Black-white-light brown-wet-dry??
