Gentlemen, that would only be the right thing to do. That business has been transacted outside this forum. But I continue to be grateful for both his and your time on this forum, patiently helping me through this challenge. I know you're only looking for one thing, and you will see it in my final posting on this thread. We're going to get there together. And I could not have done it without your help. You are the best group of online, tag-team, SR50 experts in the world. Thank you.
Did you send it Priority this time? I can't stand the waiting! I can't wait to read that you put it together, pushed the start button, and it fired right up. I hope it doesn't require a new AC.
HGT- Air compressor should arrive today. Remember when everyone commented that the plug looked soiled (you mentioned bad gas) when it had less than 100 miles on it? I'm starting to wonder if a flaw in the air compressor would allow oil into the cylinder, thus the bike is on it's 4th spark plug @ 240 miles. If that was the problem all along, it makes sense that it would finally quit working. Also, could that flaw be the angle of the wheel in relation to the eccentric? By design, if this angle were even slightly off, it would cause the eccentric to beat the AC wheel to death while appearing to function...and probably knocking oil into the air mix at the same time, soiling the plug. It would be interesting to measure the exact angle of my air compressor wheel vs. others in your shop (assuming there is even the possibility for it to be off). This could also be just an inherent flaw in the check valve, as NNF has mentioned..

The air compressor gets its air supply and lubrication from the crankcase...

Yes, but is it designed to allow oil through the compressed air hose vs. just air? I'm just saying that a flaw in the AC check valve might permit oil through, thus causing the soiling of spark plugs and it's eventual disfunction. Wheel/angle theory above may not be plausible since the wheel appears to be in good condition.

The mixture of oil/air is the reason why many install a water-trap... The check valve itself is there to ensure correct directional flow of the compressed air/oil.. It does not work as a filter..

You also have to remember that the Compressor only has a single Piston Ring… Oil is bound to make it past that ring after a while…
The Water Trap that most of us have installed is designed to “extract” one of the by-products of air compressing, which is water (the other by-product is heat). The oil that is also pushed along “for the ride” is also collected at the same time.
The result of what comes out of the water trap is 98 to 100% air. No more goo (the mixture of the T2 oil and water) that clogs injectors, fouls plugs and robs the engine of valuable HP and speed!!

If you can get AC into UPS by Wed. afternoon w/ 2-day air, I'll have the weekend to work on it. Thank you.
Hm! Haven't arrived yet.. Is this the new delivery guy for UPS in Denver?![]()

It will be interesting to see what failed/malfunctioned and decipher the cause. From what I’ve read, the AC isn’t a common point of failure, especially with only a few miles on it. I often wonder if the AC should be changed out at some point like the belt and other common wear items but on the other hand, I hate to fix what isn’t broken.
Dboyer- I hope HGT is able to repair yours so you can get back on the road by this weekend.
