    New bike upgrades/fixes

Well, my new beautiful Aprilia gets delivered to me on Monday. Oh and yes, I am new to the forums, so give me all that wonderful love Just wondering what suggestions/wisdom folks have for what I need to do to the bike to get it running at its best. Already have a plate relocator incoming, that rear ass-tongue thing is not cool with me, wondering what else I should be on the look out for to get my new baby running smoothly and looking great. Oh yeah, its an 09 RSV1000R, guess that might matter. I'm not afraid to turn a wrench, have owned a string of Suzuki TL1000R's, so I guess I am a V-Twin junkie. Those motors are amazing, but the damn electrics are a constant source of irritation, especially since the TL went our of production in '03. I've seen the brown connector thread(s), as well as the stator thread(s), on here and can completely sympathize, everything from the starter to the darn turn signals eventually needs to be hard-wired on the bloody TL, especially in places where you are doing cold/wet starts. I've done a lot of searching and reading here, just would like maybe a quick prioritized list of what I should work on to really get this bike moving, a fix this, upgrade this ASAP, sort of thing. Its been hard to piece it together from so many threads from bikes over many production years. From reading the forums I'm not certain whether this Ape is going to fly like the wind or light up into some sort of electrical fire. I apologize for being so wordy and thanks for any help in advance, and oh yeah, bugger off ya bunch of pricks, or something....

I don't know whether it qualifies as needing to be fixed ASAP, but you may want to relocate the rear m.c., which is readily accomplished by upgrading to some rearsets such as Gilles.
As far as performance upgrades go, I take it you've seen all the discussion on exhausts and remapping the ECU. You might also want a steering damper.

Ohlins rear shocks .... might want to consider that too.

    Just my little suggestion.

    Cheers

Beat me to it, but I'm running 15/41.

    4K RPM = 66 Mph (indicated) in 6th.
Huge improvement in rideability around town and off the line.
You're lucky to be close (I think?) to amauri, look him up and have him dial in your bike for you.

    15t Sprocket (rear is debatable).
Steering damper by Ohlins or GPR. (The steering gets upset very easily if you tend to slide the rear on the power)
    Ohlins rear shock.
Any exhaust + map 2 turns the bike into a growling snarling spitting bucking bitch. So enjoyable.
A taller windscreen if you're a taller or portlier fellow. (ZG and Puig make a nice dual radius)
Some tires you're comfortable on are no question. I dont care for a stiffer tire on this bike, but a more flexible tire will last like 3 minutes on the rear. Just try to find what jives with you on this bike, I suppose.
The Evo air box mod and removal of the flapper valve is also good for helping the bike breathe.
