When I got my CF cans they were hard to get in also. They were fine when I installed the link pipe to the can. Dan Moto link pipes fit inside the factory exhaust pipes unlike my Leo that fit over them. My Dan Moto cans were a tight fit too. I had to send down the inside of the factory and outside of the link pipe just a little and then I used just a little of WD40 to get it to slide in about 1 1/4" or so. It worked great, but when I went to take them off, the right side was a bitch. I will send them down just a little more before I put them on next time for a track day. Hopefuly this will help you.

Leave link pipe in freezer for 45 minutes, heat female end of can with propane torch then add wd40, a little thermal expansion and contraction will get the job done. Back in the dark ages prior to Akro pipes this was simply how most aftermarket pipes were installed. A nice flap wheel on a die grinder will take down high spots on both tubes and this may help a lot too. Make sure to VERY carefully clean any part an abrasive is used on, since few are made with non-embedding abrasives like Garnett.

I have to say mine fit up snug, but I didn't have to use too much effort. The fact that you say they plain just "will not go into" cautions me you might have the wrong link pipes.

    To help clarify:
When you say the don't go into, is that implying a tight-fit / impossible fit due to size/diameter issue), or an alignment issue when trying to mount everything?
Have you tried rotating the link pipe to illicit optional angles?
Using only the link pipes, do they fit into your bike's pipes like srastoder pointed out?

Can you post a few pics?

I put the link pipes onto the header and then just worked the Cans on. When i first got the exhaust i thought they sent me the wrong link pipes, but after about a min or 2 they went right on.

Just been into the attick, when I bought the bike it had Akro's on and there was a collector box which I presume must be the standard system. I guess the collector box on mine is for the Akro systems collector box!!

No wonder they wouldnt go on so easily.

My Akro cans must be part of a full system then. I suppose I should strip it all down and start again by putting the original collector box on. Mmmmm.

Pics of each please. If you have the Akro headers they are a little better than the stock headers for the non EVO series, if you have EVO6 series headers by all means use them as they are the best I have ever tested, and that includes a lot of pipes.

Visualize this... it'd be interesting to somehow get rid of the mid-pipes altogether and have those GP's much lower.

like cut out about 4" of the connecting pipe... i am sure a good muffler shop could make something work or maybe stretch the bottom of the can to fit over the header pipe.
