no no, definitely a hidden joke of sorts, nothing against you or what not The Yankees are the Ago of the baseball world, if you will, they hold all the records and titles and what not (something like 23+ championships and 60 division titles or whatever) and the Redsox, not nearly as many but still a quality team. So when yankee fans get into it with Redsox fans (kinda like VR and CS fans) the yanks just go right for the Titles and the 'sox fans bring up anything else that they can
still probably won't make much sense to those not in the US maybe even just the eastern US
