It is. Husqvarna has added an extra 100cc, both inlet and exhaust vales have 1mm larger valves and almost everything else in the new motor is different to the original F 800 R thanks to the decision to run a 315-degree offset crankshaft which vastly improves the power and torque characteristics of the engine.^^^^^Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it based on the BMW parallel twin ?

It's got a nice aggressive bark. I'm not usually too hot on the sound of parallel twins, but this one's nice.

I wan't too impressed with parallel twins either. Until I let a friend ride my 1999 Lav 750S. When I heard that little monster pulling away as a Spectator I was damn impressed. They do rock. In the top end. Quite similar power band to a two stroke.

Parallel twins can sound pretty good! All depends on the crank pin spacing. The old trx850 sounds amazing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15QCwq7JfsY It was 270degree spacing if i remember correctly, pretty much sounds like a v twin. The Husky should sound pretty unique too, with the 315 crank, a lot different to the bmw 800 that tends to sound a lot like a boxer twin.

Looking forward to seeing these in the U.S. ....... would like to see one in person. I like the unique front fender, instead of the usual duck bill that other supermotos have.
Some call it F1 technology and others Arty Farty, in any case, it does eliminate head shake.
