It is. Husqvarna has added an extra 100cc, both inlet and exhaust vales have 1mm larger valves and almost everything else in the new motor is different to the original F 800 R thanks to the decision to run a 315-degree offset crankshaft which vastly improves the power and torque characteristics of the engine.
It's got a nice aggressive bark. I'm not usually too hot on the sound of parallel twins, but this one's nice.

Parallel twins can sound pretty good! All depends on the crank pin spacing. The old trx850 sounds amazing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15QCwq7JfsY It was 270degree spacing if i remember correctly, pretty much sounds like a v twin. The Husky should sound pretty unique too, with the 315 crank, a lot different to the bmw 800 that tends to sound a lot like a boxer twin.
