Which Coolant for a V990 engine

My coolant fluid is now 3 years old.
Might be time , to change it now. although there is no sign of contamination.

I have a unopened 5 Litres can of (modern) G12 pink coloured coolant fluid,
The G12 is supposed to be a lifetime coolant and is stock on new VW,Audi cars..

the bike has regular green fluid (G11) in it. Can I changed it with pink G12
    (flush before adding pink )

You said the magic words: flush before adding pink. I work regularly with the G11 / G12 fluids. Both have their own advantages.

The G11 fluid seems to work very well protecting dissimilar metals, or alloys with differing electronegativity. I found it just the ticket for protecting the high compression head on the Mercedes 190- damn thing had an alarming propensity to corrode at the cylinder head passages.

The newer G12 cannot be mixed with G11 or standard "green" coolants! It will polymerize into goo, sealing small passages like the throttle bypass lines, and the coolant reservoir return line on VW / Audi. G12 also likes to "scab" at small leaks, making troubleshooting bad seals a breeze.

As long as you give it a good flush first, the G12 is good coolant.
