Has anyone tried Dr. Pulley sliders in the Scarabeo 200????
I searched the forum, and found that 12 gram rollers are standard in the 200, and the size is 20.9x17.....
What slider weights did you use????
And where did you order them from???

I haven't put these in my 200 yet - might be nice addition. I have them in 2 other scooters and like them a lot. Figuring out right ones to order is a real challenge!

I thought maybe someone else has done the leg work already.....I read from other forums, you go about 1 to 2 grams lighter.....
I will buy some in Feb and get them installed.... I think we need to go with the 11 gram Dr Pulley Code SR-2117(20.9x17) LINK

I believe youre correct on the size n weight .. for your model.
So got the sliders(11gr) and now I feel a strong increase of power from the 15 to the 60mph ... Today I will test the top end on the expressway... lot of people say that they feel a "smooth" acceleration.... my word be of choice would be "sprinty" .... the chatter of the rollers is gone when slowing to a red light or stop... and going between 10 and 20mph cruise is more of a chore... because it "sprints" at that range. In any case I am Very Happy with the change and my next step is a gpr exhaust
PS: you need a 18mm socket to get to the cvt pulley if your doing this yourself.... not a common socket.. just saying.

Did you collect ant time/distance info before and after the mod? Here is an example of the data I am speaking to:
http://fc.greensboroday.org/~epaynter/brcvt
I think every engine (HP/torque curves) are different and variator and weight combinations match up differently. It is possible the gains you have now will be different once you make the exhaust change. I think if we all collect our data and post them, we can develop an means to dial in the best combo 1st or 2nd try out of the box depending on what you what to maximize (MPG, top end speed, or acceleration). I think no roller weight change is going to give you all three, perhaps 2 at most.
I'm guessing here, but the roller/variator is going to act on centrifugal force only. HP and torque curves are somewhat independent variables to rollers, but my guess is you want the torque to move the belt up on the variator perhaps getting near top gearing ratio when you are close to max torque (perhaps 80-90% peak). HP comes higher in the RPM range, that's what accelerates the bike. Heavier roller weights will move out the variator belt too fast to a taller gearing ratio for the HP/torque available. Too light of roller weights, and there isn't enough centrifugal force to move the belt into top gearing even though the engine can reach high RPM fast. I think in looking for the right combination of roller weight, you have to know where your power curve is. So, in setting your roller weights, you should do what ever you are going to do to max your HP/Torque first, then dial in the roller weight 2nd. This would mean changing your exhaust, modify the air intake, etc first. Then dial in the roller weight. If you do them in reverse, you risk having to redo the roller weights.
Thoughts?

Hey Jerry .... the truth is I did not get any info before this.... last week before the change my top speed was between 76 and 81 mph gpsed. Today with some wind gped I got 75mph .... I can only say what I feel and something that did not happened before is now I can take off really fast right around the 20 mph mark to the 50mph.... I can feel the front wheel jump up.... I will try to get someone to mark my speed to get some numbers for when the exhaust get installed. And yes... it would had been a great Idea but I never thought of it that way. By the end of this week and some less wind I will get a better average on the top speed.![]()

Any chance you can use GPS to mark your speed?
it still been very windy but after several gps testing on the highway my top speed will not pass 78. My past top was 86... but the usually was 81 this was taken over the summer. Still am very happy with my middle acceleration... leaving many behind if I need to. Will check in a couple of days the wear and tear again of the belt.

If you don't mind, could you share where you bought the slider weights. From the dealers in the US, none seem to carry the SR-2117, 11 g which I believe you purchased.
Best regards,

Jerry - To get all three on my last bike I went with a Hoca 115mm variator with the machined drive face and 12 gram rollers. The variator ramps were a bit different from OEM and on the 150 Gy6 it would down shift radically on heavy throttle and pull like a bandit. 0 to 45 would be done across an intersection. Top constant speed went from 52 to 65 on the flats and moderate inclines. Fuel economy went from 50/55 to 55/63 mpg. The clutch blew and the drive faces were badly scored beyond use by a kevlar belt so I had to replace them anyway along with the gearcase bearings. OEM variator and clutch only lasted 7,000 miles.
This was on a Chinese GY6 Vintage style clone scooter that sold in the $1,500 price range.
interesting
Jerry,
Here is what I went with on the GY6 150:

These guys are also Dr Pully distributors and square shooters.
I have dealt with them in person and they are a bunch of great folks to do business with.
The last time I spoke with them they were hoping their parent company would let them increase the product line to include more for the larger Aprilia/Piaggio scooters.
