You can do this by yourself, but it does help to have a second person.
Remove the Air box (or pod filter as the case may be), put in a quick shot into the Intake manifold and go on the starter. Once she runs, continue to give it shots to keep her running (be careful as the starting fluid is designed to start 4 to 8 cylinder cars/trucks do spraying and spraying will just flood her).
It takes a bit of practice, but you could have her idle until your can runs dry. NOT recommended BTW. This is just to confirm and rule out certain issue/problems. If you can maintain her running for I'd say up to 30 seconds, that should be good enough.
While she is running, you could use a spray bottle of soapy water to check the air lines, water trap and compressor for leaks. This is also where having a second person with you will come in handy...
