OK, here are the pics of my test ride with my modified trailer with the bike on it.
The trip was done in 2 parts. A short haul trip (about 20 minutes), and then if all looked good and securre, a long haul trip (about 90 minutes). For the first trip, I stopped several times to check the tie-downs, anchors and the wheel hubs (brought my infrared thermometer). All straps and anchors were great and tight. Temp readings on one of the hubs had me look at the tire pressure and sure enough, it was low, like half the other sides tire!!
Here is the ramp I made... 2X10X70 pressure treated board.
Here I'm stowing the Ramp after loading the bike. The ramp is secured to the deck with 4" Pins.
Here is a view of the front angle iron that I had to grind away a bit of to protect the bikes nose. I also added some pipe insulation for added protection... For the actual trip, the pipe insulation will be tapped down.
Here I just "Installed" the handle bar straps I got on eBay. One of my better purchases!! Notice the new seat? Thanks to William the Third, I replaced my red seat with black.... MUCH better!!
Here is one of the straps installed...
Here is the rear strap and a closer view of the ramp secured on the deck...
More to come!!
