I haven't changed my lever as I like having a steel brake pedal. If you fall over and bend the lever it's pretty easy to straighten up. Alloy ones tend to snap off in a fall.

The only change I made was to adjust the lever so I can ride with off road boots. Thus it is now lower.

I bought some larger pegs a a while back and still haven't fitted them. I just went down to my local wrecking yard and found something that fits. (Honda CR450 from memory) Wider pegs do make a world of difference, so I should pull my finger out and fit them up soon!! :-)

Andrew, Simon Peavey claims we should hold our right foot UNDER the brake lever (when riding big heavy adventure tourer) and not on top of it...perhaps only when riding on very rough surface

May I ask what makes a pedal more off-road? Is it a leverage thing? Grip surface? Looks?

I think Mike means it's survivability in the event of a fall, so he is not left with a broken lever in the middle of nowhere.

Mike perhaps Touratech make one that could be adapted

I am after a chunky teeth type, as we all know after a few miles the brake becomes spongy, i have changed the brake fluid etc, but in the Pyrennes it was bloody awful really had to push it down some, this was a little off putting when going down steep rocky patches where you dare not touch the fronts.. just some thoughts

Mike is thats what your after, perhaps a visit to your nearest Motocross dealer will find something that could be fabricated onto your Capo lever..............perhaps welding or similar

Big Steve, I've heard the theory about the toe under the lever and I usually do the same thing, but with big MX boots the lever sits too high. I had to lower the lever or otherwise I would have had to lift off my foot from the peg to brake. Not a good idea. Also, you don't get a lot of feel with MX boots, it's more intuition, so I therefore prefer my foot on the peg and a little dab on the brakes, not a big step! Hope that makes sense.

BTW, pivot pegs are brilliant to ride with. My old KTM had them and I loved them.

If it is the chunky non slip of a motocross lever you are after you could add one of these from Touratech

You would have to drill a bolt hole in your existing pedal but that's not a big deal. I looked at a friends Transalp at work and the end of the brake pedal is of a similar size.
The Pooratech solution is to make your own extension from an old motorcross footpeg from a breakers.
