new front sprocket? stock or not

been looking around and saw that front sprockets are pretty cheap and with me not knowing what the stock gearing is i thought:

would it be worth changin the front sprocket to a higher tooth or lower tooth and keeping the rear stock (if change it could you tell me what tooth is better for a combination of good acceleration whist keeping a decent top speed) - my set up is pretty much stock AT THE MOMENT

Pretty much stock? what does that mean?

Here is an idea, if it turns out you have to split your engine because of your other problem, than you could consider fitting a Top Performances 6th gear wich gives you higher top speed with out loosing acceleration in the first 5 gears.

i mean by mostly "stock": not modified heavilly otherwise considered as standard, all thats been done UP TO NOW is a bigger end can on the exhaust and de-resrticted

oohh interesting about a higher 6th gear, didnt think about that so it isnt worth me changing the front sprocket then ? (just wondered if one of you had changed from standard to a higher tooth or lower tooth that performed better than the one aprilia put on the bike to start with)

    thanks

If you fit a difrent endcan on the stock pipe you loose power mate, aftermarket endcans are Absorbtion silencers, while the Stock endcan is a Resonance silencer wich creates a completly difrent type of back presure wich the stock pipe really needs, if you dont have the stock endcan on the stock pipe you already lost a few miles in speed just from that.
So if i where you i fit the stock endcan back and sell the other endcan, or fit a race/sports pipe.

If you change the 6th gear i wouldnt change the sprocket size, unless the bike overrevs it self still in 6th.

realistically you will only gain aroud 3mph at 10000rpm with the new 6th gear. the original 6th gear is 25 tooth and the top performance one is 26 tooth. changing reduction from 0.96 to 0.92.

Thats more difrence than changing the rear sprocket by 2 or 3 tooths makes, and more than half the difrenece that changing the front sprocket makes, and that with out loosing acceleration power.

havnt got the stock end can as - when i bought the bike the end can has been fitted before i bought it, i am able to get access to an Rs 125 2000 exhaust (i know it is bent to the other side) so it might be worth me trying to heat it up and bent/twist it to the oppsite way and that way il have a complete stock pipe (its a drestricted stock pipe)

RS 125 pipe is not gonna work at all on a RS 50... on top of that you will never be able to bent it the right way.
