I take it that with Power Button you mean the bike has a Engine Off switch/button on the handlebars.

Does that still turn the engine off?

ok, than theres something wrong with the wires that go to the ignition lock it self, or inside the ignition lock it may have broken off from the contacts.

Since they do not include the Wiring Diagram anymore with the User Manual i will give you one, theres no colour coding, because they could not be bothered with translating the diagram for the RS50, so the Diagram is in Italian, while the Manual that its in list them in English so they make no sence at all with the drawing at all.

    1 is the CDI unit.
    5 is the Ignition Lock/Key.
6 is the Run/Off Switch on the handlebar.
Bi/Rs stands for White/Red, so its a White whire with a Red stripe, thats what your looking for.

Somewhere between where it splits of to go to the Handlebar Switch and the Lock Switch the wire is broken, or the contacts in the Lock it self are broken, i bet its inside the lock it self, and highly recomend you fix it, because theres a high risk of it creating a short than in there wich can fry All your electronics (ignition, dash, rectifier, regulator, coils, etc.)
