Cam timing readings.

I use 2 old cam tensioners with all the oil purged out (push ball bearing down in the centre of tensioner). Put these cam tensioners in the tensioner holes with an old cam sprocket bolt poked into the end of them, then tighten up the cam tensioner bolt without the copper washers in place. You should have just enough adjustment to tension the cam chain guide fully.

i've drilled and threaded a tensioner plug and fitted inside a long M8 bolt.

Hey guys. Just a suggestion but is there any reason not to just flip the sprocket around to ever so slightly move the timing???

No reason I can think of...actually it is borderline genius. Building a super special 1102cc right now so I will try it and see what the degree shift is on that one.

Late-model cams are cast, not forged. Yes, now 1-piece construction, but they are cast, hollow, and not considered weldable for regrind purposes.
