The easy way is a flush machine used by car shops.
Next best is buy el-cheap-o engine oil XXX brand run it for an hour and drain it.
Replace it with a proper engine oil. Oil filter also.
(some folks use Sea-Foam as oil additive to flush the system)
thank you![]()
it just seized at 50mph that was scary
been offered a engine from the injection bike (newer) will it fit ?
Engine seized on you?!?!?
Can you give us more info?
IE could fit in the frame, but to run it you need much more than just an engine.
Complete wiring, dash, electronics, controls, fuel supply, .....
Not worth it unless ALL of it is less money and labor than rebuilding the engine you have,
which is highly unlikely.
riding along at 40mph pulled the throttle back and the rear wheel locked up
tried to free it up it started run for a mile then locked again wont free this tim temp was low and oil was going round ok i have had it with this engine but have been offered a crashed inj model been offered £300 for it but think its worth more than that

tonight i will fit the rad etc and try it had to change a few bits but so far so good

wooohooo its alive sounds a lot better to
so the answer to my question the fuel injection engine will fit
all i needed was some parts off the old motor![]()
Excuse my asking.... I'm trying to understand why the engine would seize-up.
If I remember you had a head gasket issue, coolant in the oil.
It is possible you have coolant in the cylinder or in the crankcase thus causing something called hydro-shock.
Perhaps it is not seized, just full of fluid/s where it should not.
Sorry to hear that... it seems as the previous owner had the issue with the head gasket, coolant getting into oil and cylinder.
In addition the bike was difficult to start, thus choke was used offten and all that over-fuel was sipping pass rings, furthermore damaging rings, bearings and all.
Darn!!!
been offered the bike no front end clocks or swing arm
so loom engine etc all sitting in the frame starter ring has broken
have the new engine now
