Stumbled on one for a deal, rode it, and instantly made up my mind. It hadn't even been on my radar and I was just checking it out before planning on buying something else. Those thoughts evaporated and I've loved it ever since,.

Wait, you could have gotten one of those weird Honda things. The DN-01 or whatever they are called. I have even seen one being ridden. Damn! You are right. Not much of a choice at all.

    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

Comfort and uniqueness. I knew immediately that this bike was right for me when I first sat on it. Still on the fence about the brand though, as I've had a stalling issue with the bike. But hopefully that'll get ironed out.

I've really only owned two bikes - and they're both 'prillers.

The first time around, I just wanted a two-stroker. And the only road bike you could find in the US was the RS50, so I had to have it.

It has a commanding presence in MotoGP at the 125 & 250 classes. And I've always courted race replicas.
Also, Aprilia is unique in its very stylish designs, aesthetics, quality materials and perhaps more importantly, it's not a Duc!

Not that there's anything wrong with our Bolognese cousin, but Prillers stand apart from them in terms of rarity. And practically no one knows of them, here in America, and most of the world outside Europe, actually.

    AF1 'hooked' us.

Probably wouldn't have bought & owned two APES if it hadn't been for them.

In 09 I was looking for a sport bike I can ride to and from work without feeling guilty of putting mundane miles on her, as well as the weekend ride. Of course I looked at the Japs for that. The 09 R1 was on top of my list Insurance $3,600.... Ohh Hell no! Next CBR 1000RR, insurance $2,800....... Not Happening.
I went looking for a used F4 and there she was, a 08 RSVR in all her glory. Insurance $720..... don't ask my how or why this can be........ I bought her on the spot.
One of my favorite bikes I have ever owned (top 2 actually). Since she is in pieces being transformed into a track bike I am thinking of buying one of the many left over (still) 2008.
Did I mention it is not a Jap?

I was looking to get a motard of some description. Considered a DRZ400 but wanted something so my girl could sit on the back every now and then, but also something that I was not going to get bored with. So I looked at a DR650, took it for a test ride and then went to a dealer that had just sold my VFR for me. I asked what was around as far as a naked bike/motard in my price range. (I thought I might like to 'street fighter' a road bike at one stage)

I was shown a FZR600 in silver. I stepped back to get a better look and damn near tripped over the Dorsodouro. Wow, what a great looking bike!

Took it for a test ride and it was sex on wheels.

So out went the thoughts of a DR650!

Put a deposit down and rode the DD home the following weekend.

The DN1 is rather ugly, underpowered, and overpriced. The VFR1200, however, is a fine specimen. It has a real dual clutch tranny. I've seen leftovers selling for 11k to 12k.

If you taste tilts even more towards sport touring, Yamaha FJR1300 is a proven ride.

Both of these have something I really like: shaft drive. I've seriously considered both, though not the auto versions. But I guess I have to shop Guzzi to get an Italian bike with a shaftie.

Had my eyes on the Futura for a while. Went to the Motorcycle show and wife said it was too much of a leaned over riding position. Went and sat on the Ugly Duckling (in some peoples minds) Caponord and fit quite well. Did the purchase #27 in the states, got the free hard cases and have not looked back. The engine being pretty much bulletproof didn't hurt either.
Wouldn't mind a Fut next to her though. Could come to an end at Triumph is catching my eye with there new 1200 and I can get serviced. Shame as I like the Apes.

Nobody else makes an "SXV550" so I had no choice but to buy Aprilia. I love v4 sport bikes ever since the Honda VF750 superbikes came out on the track. I rode an RC30 and fell in love so if I was in the market for a sportbike again no choice but to buy Aprilia.
