    Squealing brakes

Here's something I've noticed for a while but thought it would just go away as it did with my other bikes.

I noticed that the front brakes are squealing when applied. Did anyone else experience this? Was it resolved or did it just end up going away? I've got just under 2500 miles on the bike.

I did a search for "squealing brakes" but found nothing.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Take your pads out and give them a scrub with some medium to fine sand paper to just roughen them up a slight. Should assist with the problem.

Should ask, has it been since new, or just the last 100 miles or so? They may just be glazed. Whilst they are out give the calipers a good flush with some brake cleaner.
Hoh, Hum, another shitty day in paradise!

It was maybe 100 miles or so after new. I was thinking maybe it was glazed. I'm gonna get Guido, no offense to anyone, to rough 'em up a bit...

    Thanks guys!!

They're Brembo pads. Not sure how I can tell if they're good or not. All I know is that they were glazed and I sanded them with some 60 grit. Good to go now.

Clarkie - What was your take on the pads? Are these just going to get re-glazed? Is replacing the OEM pads a better option?

pads are like tires, there are a lot of different compounds and different feel's out there.

i was always a big fan of the EBC HH pads as i like a lot of 'bite' from the brakes, the pads Hardcharger has are Goldfren pads.

they have more bite, more feel and less drag than the EBC HH compound pads.

this year i will be using the Ferodo Sintergrip XR pads that were developed for World Super Sport racing, i will let you know what i think
