    Hi everyone.
This is my very first post and a bit of a hello, wrong place probably. I have recently bought a Fut and am looking forward to the dry weather here in Telford. I was drawn to this bike and for some reason beyond my control I went with heart over head which is a new experience to be honest.... Anyhoo I am tapping into this thread as I noticed a meet here in Newcastle on Clun, Shropshire, if others are going it would be nice to meet and compare stories.
My real name is Curt and hope to enjoy the forum and look forward to meeting people.

    Meet at Newcastle-on-Clun, Shropshire, 25th - 27th May

Just a reminder for anyone who fancies spending a weekend in what may well be a moist field on the Shropshire/Wales border. These RiderSite goings-on tend to be dominated by Falco owners (they're not quite as bad as they're made out to be), so it would be nice to have a few Futs there to redress the balance. Details here:

I may have to revise my earlier comments about the Falco pikies

This is my first post and I'm gobsmacked.... thought I was getting a rare bike!.... I am from Telford and just got hold of Pat's loved but little used Futura this morning! Now I find there is one in Albrighton and Cleobury Mortimer........

Does anyone actually know how many there are in the UK?

Used to ride ZZR 11's in the 90's gave up biking 'temporarily' in 2001, to help fund a house move..... then 6 months after the move got made redundant....... long story short, sort of back on an even keel now and wanted to buy my dream bike before I'm too old....... Yes my dream bike is/was the Futura. Fell in love with it when the pre-release pictures were released (I think in 2000) and I have always had a soft spot for Aprilia (don't know why just one of those things).

The ride this morning was.... was.... Er...... Interesting...... Basically shat myself for the first 15 minutes, started to gain a little confidence after another half an hour and then after an hour or so noticed that the Fut had begun to read my mind and had become an extension of me.......... Just the way it should be. Have to say my skills are very rusty although the wet roads and drizzle this morning did not help at all..........

Intending to ride as much now as the weather will let me to blow the rusty skills away

If the weathers ok, I may take a run over to Newcastle on Clun next weekend........

Lastly, with a nick like Uber Pikey...... just how safe is my new pride and joy?

    Laffer.
