Why doesn't Australia have a major motorcycle brand for sale around the world?? You sure have put out a lot of talented riders.
potere - italian for power
have M1 permit, will travel
Making riders and making a motorcycle company profitable are two very different things. Our local auto industry is constantly being helped with funds by the government, creating motorcycles would just add to financial stress for the government. Australia, unlike many european and asian countries has no history of bicycles or motorcycles in its heritage. The uptake of motorcycles and bicycles is only now just starting to gain momentum due to increasing petrol costs and increasing traffic.

Dejavu,
Check the relevant ADR's.
I just recently had an officer who obviously didn't know the rules correctly and tried to defect me for blinkers being too close.
He quoted a distance of 30cm centre to centre for the rear blinkers. I looked up the current and past ADR's and it was never 30cm min.
It is currently 240mm front and 180mm rear inside to inside. In NSW at least, motorcycle number plates are 180mm wide so anything outside the plate should be fine.
As for the eliminator, as long as the angle of the plate abides by the rules (for speed cameras detection) and has a red reflector you should be fine.
Put on some tech spec tank grips, took off that label on the mid fairing that was such an eyesore and went for a spin. Now I gotta get something to remove the adhesive left on there.
Current bikes; 09 Shiver, 2011 RSV4F SE, NC30
WD40 normally removes the adhesive.
It is the product you use for everything.
In fact even washing hands to remove grease... use WD40 for a quick squirt... it removes the grease and grime. Then wash with soap.

Some mates helped me clean up my dirty wheels once and he used wd40 to get all the tar off.
However... He got wd40 spray all over the brakes as well... Lots of it.
I got on the bike & rode off & came roaring up to the stop lights & hit the brakes...only to discover they were not operating in the manner for which they had been designed.
For the next few moments it would be fair to say that I would have shit a great big load of poo in my leathers had it not been for the fact that my ass was so tightly clenched shut as my butt cheeks gripped the seat like a limpet.
The bike actually felt like it accelerated forward & I was forced to serve up between the lines of traffic & overshot the lights. I went straight though the red & by the grace of the Aprilia gods I managed not to hit anyone.
Gives me a softon just thinking about it!
