    Start of my RS50 Project

    Greetings,

Long story short, I have been looking high and low for an RS50. I finally found one that needs a little "TLC" and am going to pick it up today (pending its not totally "F'ed") and hope that you all can help me a long the way.

    What I know now -

    The good

2002 RS50, 80cc kit, after market carb(not sure what), arrow exhaust and a kansas moped title (SWEET!) 600 miles .... (getting it for $500)

    The bad
Front plastic has some cracks and scratches - (And idea on how to help prevent more cracking?)

Top of the tripple tree is missing. (AF1 needs to make more!)

I will post pictures later today after I check the bike out and make sure its not totally trashed

I am 6,3 220lbs and my goal is to have the most bad ass moped on campus. haha.

Think all of that can be fixed for <$500? Looks like it only need 1 peg, 4 signals, tripple tree + labor and carbs cleaned/adjusted

check the stabilizer between the fork legs that hold the front fender, i would take it of and check the mounting points on the for for cracks.

Also the Exhaust is in a odd position like its missing mounting rubbers, or bent.

cant really tell but the fork legs look a bit bend in the images also.

From what i am seeing it looks like the bike had a headon collision or someone made a stoppy that didnt end well.
So i gues the Subframe for the Frontfairing is bent also, and the damadge is not just limited to the fairing it self.

Triple tree should be an easy find on ebay and not very expensive

My rear brake lever looked the same way when I got it and i was able to bend it back so it looks new

I'd also recommend taking the tape off the exhaust

good find and good luck with fixing it up.

That tape around the tailpipe makes no sense, and traps moisture so the pipe under it corrodes, so yeah, defenatly take it off.
