    Carbon tank for RSV4

I'm starting to tool up to make a carbon tank for the RSV4, I have a 2010 model and I'm told that the 2011 tank is different at the rear. I would like to cover the model range with just one set of tooling, anybody got any high res pictures that I can look at that shows the back of the fuel tank?

what state are you located in? It's probably easier to get a hold of a tank and pull a mold from the bottom.

the 2011 has a cut out in the tank for the gyro thing that the aprc relies on. it sits right underneath the seat.

Your best bet is to model the 2011 tank with the recess, so it will be compatible with both bikes

That is the plan however I don't have a 2011 tank so I will rework the 2010 tank if I can get some pictures that would help me out thanks.

Daryl RSV4R A full tank, lighter and bigger volume as the plastic tanks are quite thick in places.

There is a photo of the 2011 tank somewhere in the Tank posts where you can see the recess. Its a diamond shape. What we really need to do is get you some detailed measurements too.

I think Swingkat420, who lives near me, switched his tank to the 2011. maybe I can coerce him to take measurements and pics

You guys should of posted it a couple days ago. I just had my tank out to check on the air filter after the trip to Laguna!

I use that recess as storage to the Geico backpack bag I got from Laguna MotoGP.

You want measurements of the recess?

    Steve beat me to it.

Racecomp - it's great to hear someone is doing this, given the fuel range issues with these bikes particularly. Any clear idea on price as yet?
