    stop me luggage burning

Here is my next question to the Pegaso [I]massive[I]in reference to my forthcoming trip to europe on my P trail.

Now for started, light is the word. none of this 'long way round' ford fiesta mass thing. 15 years ago I got all the way around america with one large rucksack and two smaller ones on a CB650 Nighthawk.

This time I recon two big rucksack and a tent would do the job. Problem is

    1) how to secure these items to the bike? both from a non flap about and a security point of view?

    2) how to stop them burning on the exhaust?

I have a number of ideas which may or may not work but before i begin, someone is liable to of had a much better idea!

    cheers

That is just what I am after. I was going to fabricate one, but it would take a long time..... and invariably i would get it wrong

If there is one available. is it an aprilia item, or a generic one?

    cheers

Hiya mate a guy on eBay is selling the genuine strada racks and panniers no bids on them yet the links below thought it may be of interest to you! I myself have this setup and they are perfect for my needs as they are expandable and very sturdy the bars jeep them well away from the exhaust!!

Get a Ventura rack and bag ? I think they do one for the peg. You would then have the bag on the seat and the tent on the back.

Add a Famsa tank bag from Winding roads, and you are sorted

I am in the process of making my own. I guess they will be a bit mad max style, but hopefully a bag will be covering them up!

If you do decide to go the Ventura way then I still have the arms for the Ventura rack if you are interested. These are £90+ new, mine are £30 delivered.

The great thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise and is not preceded by bouts of worry and depression

I have finally completed my home made luggage rack project. At a total cost of £27 and a day of labour I think it is still worth the bother. It will take at least 15Kg of weight on each side and appeas, so far not to sing at high speeds....

I am not sure, but looks like you've "removed" the ori mufflers' baffle. Is that correct? Care to share more ?

    Cheers.
