hi recessionracing..... there aint any easy way to get more power unless you set up the bike correctly..... simple things would be VF3 34mm carb and simple porting on the block.... hope this helps...

Do what ya got to do to set squish to .8mm, this makes more difference than words can tell. I measured my squish (2.1mm) with no base gasket (Mitaka Cylinder) then had the cylinder machined -2.0mm from the top deck, used a .6mm base gasket and all was well until it broke!

Yes the squish seems to be the sacrificial lamb, get it right and off you go.Had my 34 flatside carb jam open the other day may have been the tank sitting on the cable or something else have to investigate no fun fallin off.

porting means to make the combustion flow more smooth.... and for the exhaust to escape faster.... but i am yet to try the squish band.... wonder will it cause the compression to rise? an feedback guys?

Yes, compression will go up. About 25-30% @ .7-.8mm. Makes a world of difference especially with the stock ignition timing. Port timing remains correct for the stock or lower end aftermarket pipes. The real reason this mod works so well is increased burn speed in the combustion chamber. Compression only really helps under 9.5k rpm.

The difference is staggering when you ride the bike. Plaese remember that old addige that you measure twice and cut once. Real easy to fuck up a $700 cylinder.

Get the squish right on a 2t motor and the path to power becomes MUCH more clear. Mine is using a Honda RS125 pipes now and when squish is right it pulls WAY HARDER. I have to cut a new cylinder soon, hopefully the machinist gets the o-ring groove far smoother this time!
