CMP Racing Panel Filters

Well the filter foam arrived, it is half the thicknes of the stock filters, and alot faster flowing with good filteration. The foam is 2 layer hi-flow filter foam (one porus filtration layer, one fine filtration layer), and is as pictured (red one side black the other).



Now i started off cutting these with sharp fabric scissors, and used a basic design template, after the first sheet (out of 3). Heres the first 2 off, with the first CMP design.

Then i decided it may be better to use a new stanley blade to get a better edge and change the design, the other one looked abit bland.

Here is the new knife cut ones with the new design.

I think the second one has the edge on the logo, but it goes in a box anyway.

The filters were cut using the origional size filter, edges were finished and the filters were stuck together using a filter glue (like evo stick)

These are the first CMP Racing Filters, i have 6 made and the price is £8.50 Delivered. The second lot may go up in price depending if i use the same foam or not, and if i can get hold of the same foam as easy.

This is the same filter im using with the latest mods im fitting, once i have the barrell of course.

These filter should flow as fast, if not faster than hte piperX the only difference is they dont come boxed with the fancy name.

More will follow if they are popular. Now i have the templates, i may make a CMP Racing spray template. Also going to knock up a jig for faster cutting. But edges will still be hand finished.

You know i thought that when i got the foam!

You can use filter oil if you wish, i used to run the RS50 dry through summer at times. Its how you feel, if you have the oil do it, if not decide on what you want to do.

Normally you should always use filter oil with these filters. The oil makes the dirt stick to filter. I you don't clean em enough on a certain point the filter starts to let the dirt go and that will go through right in your engine, BAD. I must say these filters look damn good, as i said before, this is an excellent replacement for those who still have that crappy original one.

Oh yeh it was the standard filter on the RS50 thats like 1inch + thick.

It is a good idea to oil them like Mec said.

Now you can buy a PiperX Panel for £19.50 that comes with the filter oil, o rone of these for £8.50 and some Silkolene filter Oil (which will last years, and do many filters) for about £5.00.

The foam is 2 layer hi-flow filter foam (one porus filtration layer, which is great for doin the dishes with a bit of fairy liquid, and one fine filtration layer, which is a bit course 4 getting dried on dirt off pans), and is as pictured (yellow one side, green the other).

Measure the RS50 ones, i am sure it can be cut down to fit, i have some scraps (about 2 inch) i can send with it incase you ned to fill any other gaps.
