Castrol RS TTS 2T- Discontinued :(

I heard a rumor that the Castrol RS TTS 2T was being discontinued. I contacted Castrol USA and they confirmed that it is being discontinued and that they have no plans of replacing it. So if you are like me and canít see yourself living without it, purchase what is left on the shelves. Today is a sad day.

Hope they don't do that here in Oz...I wouldn't know what else to use!

Bloody hell. I'm on my last bottle.
I seem to have used up 3.5 bottles in about 2000km. Does that sound about right to you?

Time to put in a large case-order to point roberts. The border guards are going to give me their usual "wtf" when I cross. In the last few months, I've brought back a commercial stainless table and a 7-foot long sink among various oddities. hahahaha

    - Clutch might still be engaging too soon? Too late? Not really sure?
    - Off-the-line lag is gone. woot.

Gosh, Are they 1 liter bottles? If so, that seems like quite a bit for 2000 km's. Off the top of my head, I think Im getting around 2000 miles on 1 liter of oil. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Yep, Im not happy with Castrol right now. They recently changed the formula of their top tier 4 cycle oil (again), so they have been rather inconsistent as of late. To that end, I just ordered 9 liters of the RS TTS 2T from a place in California so that should hold me off Ďtill Iím at least ready for a BBK.

This is much closer to normal... Culverin I would re-evaluate your consumption.

Do you drink some of the oil instead of putting it into the tank? :p

Oil consumption for di 2stoke as far as i know is about 900ml to 1Litre per 1000kilometers.

I might have mispoke, but I'm not off by much, I'm about 3 bottles in, not 3.5. The bike doesn't seem to be having any leaks. Any idea what could be eating up all the oil?

A stuck or misadjusted pump. Pull the rubber plug off the variator cover and post a pic of the pump setting

The rotational front piece that the throttle cable is connected to. Make sure it rotates with the throttle.

    How does this look?
    It's rotating matches the throttle.

If I'm not mistaken... it's supposed to. It regulates the amount of oil that your engine gets...

Your pump is set a little lean on the oil. This happens because the cable stretches over time. The 2 red lines should line up at closed throttle. You adjust it at the arrow.
