    BIMOTA SB8RS rider/owner opinions

    Anyone have one ?
    Is it a trailer queen?
    Is it unreliable?
Is it too antiquated for rapid / reasonable canyon riding ?
How easy is it to get parts ?
How do you like it ?
Can you get adequate/suitable insurance I am in the US
    Pros and Cons ?

Yes…I am looking at one with 20K + miles

    thank you

You could go to Erico and ask them.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

    Yes I have one.

No ride it once a month about 150-200 miles.

    No problems with reliablty.

    Can still fly.

Some no problems. If you crash just sit on the side of the road and cry.

I enjoy it like a milie under Lance Armstrong's Doctor's care.

I self insure, just carry liability.

It is a exotic and you just don't leave it in a Wall Mart parking lot

    Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry about a 20k bike, but the suspension will definitely need freshened up if it hasn't been.

And don't worry, an SB8R will still shake the fat down a twisty road and will still hold off anything under 1000cc in a straight line. I don't have mine anymore, but the day I got it (used, 3k on the clock) I ran it off down the freeway with a friend on a busa. From a 70 roll it pulled an immediate 3 bike lead and held it until about 140-150.

These are not slow bikes by any means, really wish I hadn't let mine go....

    Just saw this thread.
    Yes, I have one.
    No, it's not antiquated.
It is very easy to ride and handles like a dream. Some minor factory assembly issues (loose fasteners, circlips not properly in grooves, etc.).
Motor is bulletproof, and aside from the injection, exactly as it left the Suzuki factory.
Runs cool (no problems in Nevada or Socal summers).
Getting to the battery is a nightmare, so make sure you keep it on a Tender or Optimate.
Will keep up with pretty much anything, but don't try too hard as it would be a tragedy to throw one away.
Parts surface from time to time, especially in Germany.
