So this prompts the question - It would be great if someone made a heat shield.
Maybe from Carbon?
Hi Aarfeldt,
Handlebar aPRC/mode switch, fork limiter:
is this Handlebar APRC/mode switch from Flyhammer?
If yes, did you have any issue when you conect it to the bike or not?
My question is because I purchased such a handlebar APRC/mode switch from Flyhammer and when today conected to the bike ATC level on dash disappeared and on bottom appeare mesage SERVICE...could you advise what to do?
Thx in advance
Been wondering about the heatshield issue. Ohlins must design the shock to work at high temps, if you lowered the temp significantly, the viscosity of the fluid will go up thus changing the properties of the shock.
A little further thought says dyno graphs of shocks are suspect since they are run at room temperature.
Food for thought.
potere - italian for power
have M1 permit, will travel
Sorry about the late answer.
Yes, it's from Flyhammer, and it's working just perfectly.
If something has to be changed, it should be switching the up/down buttoms.
When you press the upper buttom, it goes down in the menu's....but you learn to live with it :-)
Maybe I'll swap the 2 wires later...
R7 + RSV4F aPRC on track, MT-03 on road.
Just got back from 3 days at Mugello, Italy.
Wonderfull place, nice weather (dry, 28 degree C), excellent new tarmac.
Friday was practice, played with aPRC settings.
2 corners was slowing me down - absolutely no power out of the corners.
If I raised the bike up, I got full power - but then it was not possible to stay inside the track.
If I made extreme hang-off, I could keep the bike horisontal enough to get the power....but it was not a good feeling.
Then I moved my AntiWheelie setting from 1 to 0 (disabled) - no difference.
Then I switched aPRC off (from 1 to 0), and then I got my power - and immidiately took 1½-2 secs from my laptimes.
Wish I had done it before the qualifying finished....hmm.
Seems to me, that in this situation aPRC was only looking at my lean angle.
I just had to raise the bike, and the power was there.
Would be nice, if the aPRC parameters was user-adjustable (as S1000RR has as an option).
Now I definately has to load the un-official race-map, which introduces level 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75
Another observation during saturday:
I changed the front tyre from Pirelli to a Dunlop (KR106), and the steering was extremely faster - I actually had to compensate by raising the bike.
So if you need faster steering - try the Dunlop KR106.
