Haha, i made sure i did'nt get his hair in the paint, i locked him outside for a few hours.
But, i did give the frame a couple nice heavy coats of primer.
Today i used 3M light weight filler to smooth down the sides so the weld wont be visable. Tomorrow i'll give the whole frame another coat of primer.

Today i recived some more parts in the mail. Once i get the frame painted i'll get the tank made.

So far, it seems to be coming out nice. Im happy with it, for now.

Dont forget you need to be able to ground the engine or you have no electrical power for the lights and the battery (or to weak)

    Thanks for reminding me Patrick.

Today i did'nt have enough time to spray another coat, i just made some small touch ups with the filler. Here are some pics of her =)

Now the weld should be invisble and should be flat so it will give a nice shine once painted.

Seen a lot of people respraying/powdercoating there frames and they dont realize that the Engine needs a good grounding to the frame for the generator to work, theres no negative whire for the generator, just the yellow positive wire that goes to the regulator.
So i usualy pick one of the engine mount and clear the point so the engine bolt will make a good grounding to the frame, or i take a fat copper cable and mount it to the engine or a engine bolt and than mount it to a point on the frame with a bolt and some jagged washer so it gets a perfect grounding.
If your going to Solder wires etc. on your bike, use PB (lead) containing solder, it can take more vibrations and lasts longer than leadfree solder and is still used for automotive, marine, medical, militairy, aeronautical and aurospace electronics as standard for that reason.

Okay, thank you for the information Patrick =)

Today i sprayed some more primer over it and noticed a couple areas that need more attention, so i'll do that tomorrow and then when the base work is all good i'll spray the top coat.

    Hello all,

Today i sprayed the top coat on my frame and swing arm. Here are some pics =)

Im happy with how it came out, looks alot better in person. I have to let that sit for 7 days. Then i'll slowley start putting her back together.

My next mission is to make the tank and the rear duck tail peice. I also need to order all the parts for my engine. Thankyou for all of your support and interest.

if i had a garage that big i would be building a kitcar. the frame is looking real good, i just need a tyre for my early rs50 build, should be here this week, then i can post the final pics to bring the 99 build to a finnish, just spotted another (03) rs50 in boxes on ebay, if i win will have to start build thread number 2.
still havnt got around to the tuning project yet (not enough hours in the day at the moment) but as the nights draw in i should have more time, unless i win rs number 2 that is.

is that a beer fridge i see in the background

@littlefeller: once again your bike is not a 1999 model, its a 1998 model at the latest.

Yeah, all fine but its not a 99 build model, its a 98 build model sold as new in 99 than.
Your bike is verry similar to RonneBear's, only minor difrences and you got a AM-6 engine.

yes thats correct, it has the tube frame not the cast frame used from 99 onwards. not sure how registration works, is it declared new by the manufacturer or by the importer or the show room who sell the bike? if its the latter it could have sat in a show room for 12 months or even longer

registration is wen the bike was registered to an owner the first time, (so wen it was sold to someone) not wen it left the factory, thats in the framenumber.

Anyway, this is RonneBear's thread so if you got more questions ask them in your own project thread or elswhere.
