Could someone post an image of the oil level sight glass indicating its location.

    Thanks -

It's not a sight glass on the side of the motor but a clear tube which is on the side of the oil tank. Look in between the right side radiator and the frame. You need to have the motor completely warmed up to get an accurate reading so after you ride for 6~7 minutes is when you should check it.

Thanks - perhaps with your detailed description I won't need the image. I knew it was a clear tube much like the obvious one on my 2003 Tuono R but, embarrassing though it may be, I'll be damned if I've been able to find it. Now with your directions I'll look again.

    Thank you -

    Oil Level Tube

I'm either visually impaired or stupid or perhaps both but, although I see an oil-filled clear tube on the left side, I see no clear tube on the right side and no "min/max" markings on the left side tube though it's full of oil. Below are photos of what I think are the pertinent left and right side areas.

As my photos might have hinted, I've been looking for the tube on the rear of the tank. One glance from the front revealed the obvious. It apparently was stupidity or my excuse is I'm used to checking oil level while seated on my Tuono. Thanks again to all for you help and patience.

Not quite - that's the town of Harvard not the University. Still, I'm pretty ashamed.

That tube that you say is full of oil - probably shouldnt be. Its the drain tube from the airbox. Drop the sump pan down and remove the bung from the end of the tube. Then keep an eye on it, if it is getting oil in it you may be overfilling your oil tank. Although after a race or really hard ride it may be normal to see a bit in there.

I would drop the oil and put 1250ml back in it. The engine needs to hot before you can read the level in the tube. Check your gearbox level aswell as they could be mixing.

Thanks for the advice on the oil-filled tube. I'll leave the coastal combat to others.
