Pegaso 650 I.E. Rectifier Mosfet Mod

I am new (at least in this section)
I own a Caponord and i am active on the Caponord section.

recently I changed the rectifier off my friends Peggy 650 I.E.
with an FH016 unit. original mounted on a Kawasaki ZX6R model 2007 and on.

problem with his original rectifier was: 12,9V at idle, 13,16V 4000rpm
that's problematic. Eventually gonna kill the battery, and it's Injection version so is has is own ECU unit. low voltage means ECU going crazy at least it's sensors........

    this is what I did.
    Wired directly to the battery
    30A fuse on the plus.
all connectors from metri-pack (water sealed)
al though one connector on the original wiring harness ,connection to the rectifier was burnt due oxidation , so wired it up directly with thicker 2.5mm wires.

FH016 unit is slightly wider than the original unit, so it doesn't fit 1 on 1 (FH008 will fit directly) I made a bracket the extend one bolt on hole.

    Results:
    idle:

    4000 rpm:

fits like it was made for it, no contact with fairing.

no heat devolped during a test session of 10 minutes on the unit. Try that on your original (burning)

the owner drove it today for about 1 hour
touched the unit, it wasn't even warm,
and that even mounted above the exhaust (original fitment place)

the R/R (FH008) from a Honda CBR600RR 2007 till now is a direct fit on the pegaso
    connectors from this guy

ZX6 unit (FH0016) is slightly wider, so 1 bolt hole doesn't fit. need to make little ALU plate with 2 holes to extend.

looks like my VR is dead... Its reading over 15v at times, and i think that is why my last battery is dead.
cant find a good price on a 07 cbr600 vr, but there seem to be several ZX6R for less than $40.

how do you wire the new vr to the old wire harness?

don't wire it to wiring harness
the cable on the ZX6 unit is much thicker than the original aprilia harness.
there is too much current flow , that the original wiring harness can't handle.

wire it straight to the battery
    plus wire with fuse 30A.
    minus on the minus battery.

    use 2,5mm cables.

    only the battery wires?
what about the wires comming off the stator?

Ide like to use as much of the old wireing system as i can, and be able to return to original if needed.

Bought the ZX6 unit, should have it in a week.

Is there a wireing diagram for the VR, or can you tell what wire goes where by the color?

    thanks!!!

    only the battery wires..
stator wires in any order to the r/r.

    kawasaki wiring language:
    black.white = minus.
    black.blue = plus
thin extra wire = kawasaki sense wire , leave it, unused in our case.

3 black wires = alternator, can be plug in any order.

I bought a used fh016. did all the wiring. when I plugged it in, it blows the 30 amp fuse! I tested the fuse holder terminals. when the connectors are plugged in, the black.white wire is grounded??? any help would be much appreciated!

I plugged the stock one back in by rigging up some spade plugs. It works fine so I do not think it is the connections. I am getting 14v at idle on the stock one with the new wiring going directly to the battery.

    thanks!

Black n white wire of what the Bike which is sposed to be What ? I was just lookin this thread to see what you motorcycle guys had going on with this Mod on Aprilia scooters S500 I generally Either have stator out and on the beefed up unit install heavier and fire wrapped wire on the stator these will got to shindegen Mosfet reg along with 10 Ga red (hot) and Blk (gnd) str8 to battery This Eliminates the troublesome bike wiring Just taping up the original plug leaves original intact allows what ever will pass thru harness to do so But the New Reg and my beefed up stator is completely independent of bikes other/original wiring truly maint. free.. Good luck

did you wired on the original speaker cable wiring harness?
if yes don;t do that, take a thick 12 gauges wire it directly to the battery
    with a inline fuse,
check before wiring the + - cable with a volt meter before hooking it up to the battery.

yes, I used 12 gauge across the board and wired positive and negative directly to the battery. new delphi connectors and everything.... inline fuse on the positive right next to the battery. A ground signal is coming through as soon as I plug the two pin into the FH016 ?????? dont know why....

tried to put on a futura. I dont know if it is a bad rectifier or if I am hooking it up wrong. I hooked it up based on this thread. FH016 - black/white wire being positive and black/blue wire being negative and leaving the thin black wire unconnected.

I hooked up the OEM stock rectifier to the new wiring and it is working FLAWLESSLY. So I know it is not the wiring. I am getting 14V from the stock one. Went on a long ride yesterday and the battery had FULL charge when i got it back. Plugged in the battery charger and it showed full and plugged in the battery tender and it showed green light right away as fully charged. VERY excited about the new wiring. Still would like to have an upgraded rectifier for future(a) reliability!

    ok.

i did a mistake too last time.
plug the 3 pin connector from the stator.
unplug the 2 connector put a voltmeter on it and start the engine
see what is what, I assume you swapped the minus and plus.

OK, so I can test what is coming out of the FH016 with the bike started and the 3 pin connected and the 2 pin disconnected. hopefully the plus is the black/blue wire and that is the problem. I can do that! thanks so much!!!
