New Aprilia Caponard 1200 (Dorsoduro trail touring)

Motorcyclenews in the uk has details of the new Caponard

    http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne...ilia-caponord/

Aprilia’s new 1200cc V-twin Caponord has been spotted testing on the road in Italy as the firm prepares to take on the road adventure market and its leading exponent, the Ducati Multistrada.

Italian magazine Motociclismo scooped this grainy image of the bike and shared it with MCN.

The Caponord is thought to be a prototype of a 2012 bike undergoing final testing. It will have the 1197cc V-twin from the Dorsoduro 1200, producing around 130bhp. The new Caponord is fundamentally based upon the Dorsoduro, with many parts carried over.

Expect to see ABS, two-stage traction control and three switchable riding modes: Rain, Touring and Sport.

The picture shows a bike that looks almost finished and just months away from completion. Expect to see this model at the Milan motorcycle show in November 2011.

Read the full story in this week’s MCN; out on Wednesday March 2.

I saw a higher res version of this picture and its clearly a badly done photoshop thing... basically everything is wrong: you can spot the original underseat exhaust, the shades and color of the fairing is all wrong, the side mounted exhaust is clearly wierd and you can spot where they tried to even the edge to the rear tyre, and the luggage has a wrong angle to the seat... it could not be any worse, the worst photoshop ever.... but make it low res and grainy... then it might just fool someone

The V4 Tuono nose doesn't look to bad

At least it doesn't have that dumb assed multistrada schnozz.
    Bikes:
    2007.5 Tuono-Black, with 1102cc's of micah's badness!
2012 Griso-Silver and black, Agostini pipe, some carbon bits.
2006 Vespa GT200-bitubo suspension all around, Malossi big-bore, head and cam, Akrapovic pipe, all put together by Micah.

gone 2002 Caponord-Oyster gray (as faithful as a hound dog)
gone Futura-Red (on the AF1 showroom floor. Get some.)

The more I learn about people, the more I appreciate rocks.

Why not just take the Dorsoduro 1200 and stick on an 18/19 litre tank & sculpture a seat and a luggage rail as per the SMT. Seems to be far to much development work for far to little return IMO.

I agree. And please, some other color than black.

? Make that tank any bigger and it'll create lift or act as an outrigger to either side!
