No, this is not for the Tuono, only for the 04 -09 RSVR.

Read my first post again and pay attention to where it states:

"vehicle with the MARELLI instrument panel (identifiable by the + and - buttons to the left of the display"

Easy to misinterpret the Aprilia bulletins sometimes, you have to read very carefully.

doing the same procedur.. but i leave it switch on for about 30-40seconds (not connected all the headlight bulbs)

turn it off.. and then turn it on back n fired it up.. everythings is ok.. it still recall the old odometer readings..

    update:

I had taken battery out to due a Desulphation and recovery procedure, to see if this actually works,( I own an Optimate 4 charger). After my charger compelted the procedure, I reinstalled the battery and that's when milage went to zero and bike still would not crank. So that test fail even though charger indicated charge was good. So I replaced battery today with OEM, and for some reason my mileage came back and everything else went to default settings. I don't know why it came back, but glad it did.

just thought i would check if anyone else has had the clocks reset on them after taking the battery out even following the battery replacement procedure? no key in the barrel and went through the steps prior to starting the bike.

no biggie as they have already reset once before just curious.

I just purchased a used 2004 RSV Factory, and have found some great info on this site, as well as parts from AF1. If this is correct about the battery draining like this, and resetting the odometer to zero, that should be enough grounds for some kind of class action lawsuit against Aprilia. Resetting the odometer to zero has got to violate all kinds of Federal laws...

Interestingly, myself and someone else have had the problem of when disconnecting/reconnecting the battery the RPM would idle at 3,000! The 15 second procedure rectified this on both accounts.

I've followed this to the letter today. ODO now reads 00000 but I've not started it yet. What's gone wrong?!

Sorry for splitting hairs, but does the kill switch button need to be 'in' or 'out' for this fixit?

I just took a 9v battery, soldered wires to 9v and alligator clips , hook it to bike cables before I disconnect 12v battery, it supplies enough current to bike so everything stays as it should...or do same with spare 12v battery, small gauge wire and alligator clips
