Stopped at Saratoga gap after riding up Old S.J. Rd and Summit Rd to 35 from Soquel. A few pics were taken there. We "hurried" up 35 to four corners and parked at STP then ate at Alice's. The burger is the Hog without the bun, guess you could call it the guiltless Hog. That row of bikes at four corners is such a beautiful sight. We basically returned the same way, going down 9 to Boulder Creek then up Bear Creek Rd to Summit. Hope we haven't seen the last of this kind of weather this winter.
We'll ride next weekend if the roads are dry.

Lucky you
I've been in Monterey and Bay Area two years ago for few days, and just loooved it. I would move there if I could.
Great roads, beautiful views and Laguna Seca just by the corner...
And here we have -7C (19F)...but at least you can ski
Please, put some more photos from your rides - it brings back good memories from Bay Area![]()
yeah markos. it's a terrible burden to live in the Bay Area and surrounding areas. Terrible.

Tomorrow, March 5th, will be good weather, Sunday will be poor. After all the rains the roads are likely to be full of crud but hey, better in leather than on the wife's tether. 10am departure from the Valero the the Porter Ave exit in Soquel. Small group 2 or 3 so far. Probably going thru the mtns to Lexington then to Boulder Creek on Black Mtn Rd., up 9 to Skyline, and up to Alice's for lunch maybe.
Atom? Where are you? Back from China?

Looks like that route will have you miss Bear Creek Rd. One of the most sublime bike blazing paths I used to trod.

my bad, not Black Mtn, but Bear Creek, they both run from Lexington to 35, Bear being the funner of the 2 unless maybe you're on a motard after a rain
beautiful weather, really good road conditions, not crowded, nice lunch at Alice's once again! Spring is coming.
Stopped at the vista point on Skyline for a shot of the bay and the bikes. We figured out a good spot to do an action shot so maybe next time.

Well, it will be chilly tomorrow, Sat March 12th but we will ride again, the roads will be in pretty good shape. Will post the meet-up location in a couple of hours but the time will be about 9:30am
OK, leave Monterey 9:30, S.C. about 10:15, then up Empire Grade to Alice's via Boulder Creek. Post here if you want to meet up in S.C.
Atom? Circle?

Wow, 1st trackday on Thursday, a great ride on Saturday, dim sum on Sunday
So we did a pretty typical ride in the Santa Cruz mtns except we go backwards from everyone else since we live in Monterey and everybody else lives in the SF Bay area.
Malcolm and I started in Monterey and met Aram who joined in Soquel for the jaunt up Soquel Rd, Old Santa Cruz highway to Bear Creek, on to Boulder Creek, up 9 then over to Alices for lunch. Pretty much retraced the path going back with a slight variation, going 35 all the way to Black instead of doing the backside of 9.
The picture of the 2 Aprilias is a rare sight, same paint scheme but different models. Mine is the RSV1000 and the other is the Tuono. I thought it might have been Atom but it wasn't. Malcolm rode his Triumph ST triple, Aram was on his Kawasaki. We met Ken on his yellow BMW at Alice's.
The roads were pretty clear of junk, police and cages. Won't last for long with Spring coming. We did not see any downed bikers.
