$23k, hahahaha. Oh and some of my time too. Ask Sven he can maybe build up a motec setup for less money, the guys i use wanted $4k+ just for the custom wiring loom.

    He's Moto2.

Haha. You should be able to get it much cheaper as that's where motec headquarters are. The autoblip is all done in the motec, it controls the drive by wire throttle based on the quickshifter.

    Here is what you need:

    ECU (+options)
    Dash (SDL is sufficient)
    Wiring Harness
Lambda to CAN module or Dual LTC.
Strain gauge QS (or you can make a circuit that gives you a negative and positive output using two regular quickshifters)
Ignition Module (usually either Motec's IGN4 or the Bosch 211 unit)
GPS module or lap beacon receiver and lap beacon (not reqd, but you need it for some of the functionality)
Lan angle sensor (not reqd, but you need it for some of the functionality)

For the ECU, you will probably want to enable some type of logging (you can an unlimited channels at up to 1000Hz with 250MB of space) and upgrade to Pro Analysis which allows better review of data.

And, most importantly, it takes someone like Tim who knows how to set everything up. The ECU setup is way more complicated than the Powercommander. You need to set up everything from down to how you determine timing from the pressure pulses sensed at the throttle bodies and the crankshaft speed sensor.

So, this is not cheap. The good thing is that all the parts pretty much keep their value and can be transfered from bike to bike. Also, this has been a fun project for me. But, I definitely had to ask a fair number of people, including Tim, a lot of questions until I got it right.

On a related note, the IBS Performance team in Denmark was trying to sell a full M1170 setup for the RSV4 a couple of months ago, but I am not sure if they still have it.

Nice, thanks moto2 for the information! I guess if you can come across the parts for alot less than new it could be a worthwhile investment over the APX2. $23k is just simply far far far too much unless you;re the front runner.

Not sure I see the resemblence between that guy (Tim?) and Brad Pitt :P

So have you been running the bike with AFM this season? Don't tell me you were at Sonoma last Friday before the race weekend, I did that PTT track day, didn't see you but it was really crowded. I'd like to see you and that wiring harness in action.

They moved it to a new Fireblade.
Sponsor pulled out after several engine "troubles".
R7 + RSV4F aPRC on track, Shiver GT on road.
