    Rsv4 2011?

Did Aprilia make any changes. More specifically did they make any changes besides a paint job?

I am thinking about racing one of these in 2011 in the Mid-Atlantic region. Wondering if I should hold off on my purchase until they come out.

Though if I purchase a 2010 now I can get some setup/seat time on the RSV4 before next season starts.

I'm not aware of any changes. It seems like most manufacturers are delaying announcements on next year's models. Except Kawasaki and Yamaha. An all new ZX-10 specifically designed to be competitive in WSBK bu no changes to the R1 except an optional Kenny Roberts colour scheme.

    What about this:

Anything is possible. I currently coach for Team Pro-Motion www.teampromotion.com here in the Mid-Atlantic and ride 30-50 days a year depending on my schedule so track time is not the issue it’s testing/setup of the new bike (to me) since I am coming off a 09 R6. I did get to ride the RSV4 factory at NJMP Thunderbolt (AMA track) and thought it was a bit heavy compared to the R6 but it seemed to have an awesome chassis.

You're right and I imagine the set up and testing will be quite a bit more time consuming than what you're coming from, mainly because you're dealing with the change from a 600 to a 1000. Regardless of what that 1000 is, it will take time to adjust to the style of riding and the right set up for the 1000 is. I would go as far as to say, that because the RSV4 chassis is so good, it will take even more time to get right. It's extremely sensitive to geometry changes - I'm no racer but can feel a change in turn in speed (street riding) having just going down one tooth on the front sprocket and that must be just a tiny increase in wheelbase.

Not to scare you off or anything but one of the riders in the Splitlath BSB-Evo championship quit the team because they couldn't get the bike right for him. On the other hand, when it works, I reckon it works better than anything else on the planet - prototypes excluded.

Weight wise of course, it's a whole different kettle of fish to the R6 but it's most noticeable on side to side transitions - even compared to my '08 Blade which didn't get into the turn as quick as the Ape, the Ape is harder to stand up out of a turn.
