What are the maintenance intervals and costs? Valve check?

Im looking to buy a used futura. What are the maint intervals and costs. How often are the big service jobs (like valves). Cost is important. Per this board, the engine is pretty sound, but Ill just defer to good ol' honda (VFR) reliability if it cost too much.

I bargained my 600 mile maint for free when I got mine, the next 2 are at approx. 5k miles and 10k miles at just under $300 and just over $300 respectively.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

An annoying comment, but I'll answer politely. :evil:

Current VFR v-tech valve *check* procedure: remove cams, install pins in high speed valve gear, reinstall cams, run check, remove cams. pull out pins, reinstall cams. IF any valves are out add two more cam r&r for adjustment and check of adjustment.

Hmmmm, my 10K miles also requires changing fork oil, which looks to be in the 250-350 range by itself. So my 10K service is about double what you're quoting. 8o

That's what they quoted me. It was like $290 for the 5K and $340 for the 10K. My 600 one was nada. We went over what was involved following the book. I arranged all this prior to purchase. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

It is funny that the service booklet I got with the bike states service interval is 6000km (3700 miles) and users manual I downloaded from www.serviceaprilia.com says the interval is 7500km (~4600 miles). I've clocked now about 6500km and curious when the service indicator is going to lit or is it?

Smacks of a troll as the fact that the Futura is MORE reliable, has LESS troubles and is MUCH cheaper to maintain is already well documented . . . . . . Oh, and its a comfier bike that performs better, IMHO

Service is @ 7500Km intervals, and experiences to date are positive and costs as sensible as your choice of dealer.
In the UK I am £80/£120/£200 for the 3 levels of service required.
