190/50's that are wearing out will indicate a higher top speed than say 190/60's that are new.

I've heard rumor of an RSV Factory doing 200.8mph in a standing mile.

Yes but try that with Tuono bars! How fast has your Tuono been Marc?
5 years ago, France, 8 Tuono's, everyones recorded top speed was between 154-158 mph, same road, similar bikes, riders 5'6"-6'3", skinny to fat. Bike aerodynamics seem to be the limiting factor.
FUCK THE MAGS Nuke the whales!
I see to recall that the ORIGINAL Tuono was around £18000 new......
Only 200 of them made (and yours ain't one of them FTM.....) worldwide.
The Male Whale
was a 190/50 and pretty new from what i remember, its not stock though, gearing was 16/40 and im 5'6 and was probably about 8stone at the time. had a bad problem with health at that stage, but it still pulls up into that area if i can see its clear and all that. going to wales on friday so i'll see if i can get a top speed run down the m/way first thing in the morning. im usually trying to do it on bumpy back roads.
Gearing doesnt really make much difference to top speed unless its radical. The 190/50 will make the bike read high though.
sure thats what the book says its supposed to have? i'll slap me sat nav on and get a "true" reading
No need to go out there and take a bike to that speed on my behalf mate. From my experience, most Tuono riders use a 180/55. Some prefer the 190/50, but I think that is a minority. Im sure these bikes are all in the same ball park though really, unless there is a problem. I would of been chuffed to see 162 on the clock though! I had clip ons at one point on my Tuono without the mirrors, didnt really make much difference but I didnt do an all out ego speed run with that setup. What really makes the difference is running 16" wheels, like this:

can with v5 chip 190/50 i saw 155mph stock gearing. Now i have a driving job so i may hit 90 if im feeling lucky on the highway.

Not extreme: 106/109 Max revs 10,500. Gearing used to be 16/44, now 16/40, which takes better advantage of the torque. There really wasn't anything left on top.
Having ridden at speed, it is all about aerodynamics. Put a 5'5" 140# rider on the same naked bike as a 6' 190# rider is probably 5mph top speed easily

Wasn't an ego blast brummy, it was a typical Sunday run with the boys, I got passed by a 1198 duc like I was stood still. When we stopped I asked him what he got, says it was showing 180.
It's just got me curious now about what it can actually do
tested many times with 190/55 rear and 16/43 gearing, speedo is DEAD accurate (as it should be on all Tuonos running 190/55s ) top I think it was nearly 160 but hard to tuck behind and not much road left so I'm not sure what true top would be (a la derbybrit1, thanks for braggin about salt flats bro![]()
