    2000 sr50 problems

I just picked up a 2000 sr50 replica. I'm not sure what the difference is between the sr50 and the sr50 ditech (is there one)?

The motor appears to be stock with the exception of what appears to be a Giannelli Xtra exhaust, it has a 74 main jet, 5.4gram weights, and I think it has the stock spring (I have a red spring contra spring, box full of weights and yellow clutch springs). I tried all the other weights I have and these tend to work the best.

It will do about 15-20mph on the flat road and doesn't go up hill at all.
It will rev up on the center stand with the wheel off the ground.
I just bought this machine yesterday so I'm new to these machines?
I have been browsing this forum today and need a little extra help.
    Thanks in advance.

I think you need to upjet. The 74 isn't near big enough. What kind of airfilter do you have on it?

It has the stock airbox and filter. I have a Jet Kit as well and tried an 82 and it appeared to make things worse. Pilot jet I believe is a 45.

The 82 is about what I was thinking. Maybe check to see if the float bowl needle is shutting off and not flooding out the engine.

    Does it smoke much?

You know if they ran that much without upjetting, they could have burnt the piston. Did you do a compression check?

    What size carb on a 2000 SR50? I ran a 74 jet with my shot when I was still a 50, that's with a 17.5 PHVA.

Did a compression check indicate any problems?

Unfortunately I was unable to do a compression check.
I'll have to leave it up to the guys at the shop.

Compression check just showed about 80psi... Guess it's going to get a new top end... Should I stick with the stock bore?
