    sxv550 tuning

l have just get this bike and l need some answer from somebody who know this bike.

l just put on silmoto TI exhaust and pipercross filter, then my question. Do l neet to bring the bike for the dyno or can l use it until the dyno is ready, because have to order time at my local dealer???

And l see alice Racing sell sxv G2 throttle and is say, " THE BEST MOD YOU CAN MAKE TO A SXV550, MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT IN RIDEABILITY
COMES WITH 200, 300 AND 400 CAM PROFILES"

So my question is, is this necessary for moore power or respond?? Then l want this befor l bring the bike to the dyno.

After the dyno l hope the bike will start moore easy then it do today, any experience about this issue?

    Thanks for any respond

    Hi
I dont think you can ride it until you have had the correct map installed. You can damage the engine.
No you dont need the G2 throttle, it just means when twisting the throttle it is easier to have smoother power.

Starting seems related to throttle sync and having the right map and most importantly someone who knows how to work on these machines.

As far a riding it, it depends which map is currently loaded. If it is just getting de-restricted, NO.... if it was de-restricted in the past, you are probably ok (assuming Sil is replacing the stock exhaust). Lots of people run the Sil map with the stock exhaust, so I think it would be possible to use a Sil with the stock de-restricted map, but it would depend upon which stock exhaust map and where the fueling was set.

As lo-fi said, the G2 throttle tube only provides a progressive action to the throttle as opposed to linear action. Has nothing to do with the power of the motor, just delivery.

I don't think the dyno adjustments are going to have anything to do with the starting characteristics.

    Ok thanks.

So what can l do with the cold start issue? l would be very happy if l just could push the start botton just 1time and it start.

It is also a little hard to start when warm to, but this l will think get better when sync the carburettor (maybe when cold to, any experience)

How does your bike work when start?

    What year?

Open the throttle a tiny bit then hit the start button. once it starts hold for a few seconds until it idles.

This is the starting method i use and it starts on the 1st try.

You turn on the yellow cold start botton and then open the throttle a tiny bit or without, just only throttle????

    Without the yellow button.

Usually the 1st start of the day the yellow button start method will work on mine, but for the rest of the day it won't even if the bike has cooled.

I read in a thread on here about holding open the throttle a little while pressing the start button. This has worked every time for me.
