    Pipes too loud

    Hi All,
Been riding my 02 falco after much work done by my local shop. Put a set of street fighter pipes on, and unfortunately they cause several car alarms to go off when I leave in the morning. I got a notice from the local security to cease until I addressed the issue.
I will go to stock pipes for now, but after de-restriction/air box and other mods, I would like some pipes that breath but are not too loud. Can the street fighter pipes be re-worked? Are there other pipes that breath better than stock but wont set off alarms?

    Thanks for any help

You're in the wrong neighbourhood, sorry!

You could try some dbeaters, but I've got no clue as to whether the would fit to the fighter cans. You may have to go to another brand, Renegade, Staintune, BlueFlame, that have db killers available.

Should add get the neighbours to park their cars else where!

That sucks about security. I've heard that the stock pipes actually flow pretty good. But I would sell the Fighters and get some of the cans with removable baffles. That way you can at leaste enjoy the wonderful sound when away from the hood. Got to say that is awsome to be able to set off the car alarms though. Wonder what they would say about a Harley with straight pipes?

Thanks Ex and Stone, some good info. I think getting the cans with removable baffles would allow me to get best performance at the best sound.

I think both Bos and Staintune offer Falco slip-ons with removable baffles that should kill a few unwanted db.

BTW, don't get Tigcrafts if you want quite pipes.

Couple of bolts, strap the baffles to your back, give yourself a couple of minutes each way to install/remove, and you'll be fine, especially on weekends..............

Don't worry about removing them on the way in and give everyone the shits some more!

Tell the security company to pound sand. I love it when I fire my bike up and some idiot's car alarm goes off. A lot of people just have the sensitivity cranked up too high on their alarms. What does the "security" company claim they are going to do to you if you don't "cease"? Don't think there is much they can legaly do, unless you are coming in or leaving at offensive hours (think legally it is 10pm to 7am).
For my money it doesn't get any better than when he sings, "When a man loves a woman". I celebrate his entire catalog.

My pipes (Redline) are not quite as load as the RSC carbons' but will still set off alarms.

As far as I am concerned, the alarms have been set too sensitive. If anyone complains about the alams, it's up to them to sort them out.

I've set off alarms when starting the bike or when I give it a handful.

I just love to wait for the alarm to go through its sequence, and then give it a handful again to set them off...Bwahahaha...

Well, almost everyone knows they're loud, so a removable baffle kit has been developed.

Cuts the 105dB race cans down to about 97dB or there abouts.....

guys, thank you! you've opened up a whole new world for me. i have got to wreak havoc with my falco sound wave machine.......

as a side point - when i had my harley and a group of us would be at a light next to some kid with his ultra loud and obnoxious stereo going in his eagle talon, we would just rev the piss out of our bikes and drown him out nice to know i can still do that on my falco.

    LOUD cans

You want to hear loud, then ride behind my CBX with SuperTrapps and "for offroad use only" endcaps. With my RSC cans, my riding buddies actually "let" me ride in front once in a while!

I have an old bevel gear Duke with a 2-1 custom pipe, with no baffle. Now that's loud, and boy does it sound good on song............sweeeeeet!

And my neighbours love it. The little granny next door says it reminds her of her days with her husband on an old Velocette! Brings tears to her eyes, it does........
