Alternative to the oem mana oil filter

Anyone found a good oil filter other than the OEM filter for the Mana ?? I've searched the web and, frankly, got a little frustrated trying to find another filter. Hiflo says the HF 565 fits the Mana, Shiver and one other, but no one seems to carry it. Are there any others out there? Thanks

UFI part No: 23.118.00. They also make a bigger/longer filter that fits (P/N 23.287.00) which I use myself (tip from Pete Roper). The latter is intended for some Moto Guzzis and others but works fine the Mana too and should last longer since it has more filter material than the OEM/OEM equivalent filter.

Only downside it that UFI filters are white with blue printing which may not be optimal esthetically on all bikes but some silver spray paint took care of that on mine.

    I found the HF565 at:

    http://www.mawonline.com/newsite/hif...ls___misc_.htm

    Unfortunately it's $15.95 + shipping.

I had a whole list of filters that I found somewhere on this site that would work. When I was about to change my oil I couldnt find any of them locally except for Purolator ML16822 (this is the longer filter) at Pep Boys and you can get it in black or upgrade to the chrome for 3X the price. Needless to say I went with the black. Hope this helps.

But take note that some of those filters are junk. Personally I wouldn't use the Fram or Purolator. But the Mobil, Bosch and Amsoil are reasonably good. I use UFI or HiFlo and the HiFlo looks identical to the OEM filter. UFI is used in the bigger Guzzi engines.

The Mobil 1 is a very good filter, the Wal-Mart SuperTech is supposed to be very good as well (according to Bobistheoilguy.com).
The M1-102 just happens to be the same filter as my '02 Toyota PU.

Has anyone used the Wix filter ? When I had Saab and BMW cars, the independent shops all used Wix.

Same UFI filter as is used on big block Guzzis fits and has same crack pressure for the bypass. Costs less than the 'prilla filter and is a lot better made. Lots of other x-refferences around too if you look for 'em. Or simply order in one or two of the alternatives that AF-1 recommend!

I use the UFI #2328700 (a Guzzi filter that Pete recommends). It's a tuff filter, when my bike fell over on my back lawn, the filter made a hole in the dirt and prevented some of the covers from getting scratched up. If I had a frame slider it would have done the same thing.
Hi-Flo #565 is the stock size (if you can get one).
