    Updated Tuono R for sale

Ed, you were right, I am finally motivated to sell it!!!!

$15,500 takes it, as stock as I can get it.

That not motivation....motivation is $15K with ALL the stuff on it, NOT stock.

That maybe true, but the wheels and other bits should be good enough motivation!!!!! Unattainable!!!!!

I Noticed another r with slight damage that might be available for 9k. Makes your 15.5 seem to high now!

Yeah, go ask your dealer what those OEM APrilia parts are going to cost, and when he can even get them!!! Carbon Fiber is not cheap, neither is Kevlar CF!!

Not to metion the OZ wheels on my bike are unattainable, literally!!!

Don't worry about the price though, I am trading it in before the end of next week on an 04 Factory or a 2003 Mille R, not sure yet which way I want to go.

That one for $9K didn't have "slight" damage. LOL. Read the description again.

Anyway, Maxx, sorry to see you leaving the Tuono R fold. Enjoy the new ride, whatever it may be!

What am I missing here....no way any dealer is going to give you $15.5K for it so lower the price and sell it to someone on the board that will enjoy it.

For all intents and purposes, I am near $14,500 on trade. That saves me $1,000 in tax on a new bike (6.5% in MN) which is a wash for selling it at $15,500. I am going to be fine on the trade. If I go with an 04 Mille Factory, I am looking at $4.5k to boot OTD (with the full Ti Aprilia Akra system and change to Map 2). If I go with the 2003 Mille R (which is the way I am leaning since I have all those gold bits), I will be getting my first service and the Akra full system for $300 to boot. For me, it doesn't seem to matter now if I trade or sell it outright.

Ok so your dealer is being VERY generous on the trade, but isn't the reason you are selling it is because you are a really big guy and aren't comfortable on the Tuono....how do you think a Mille will be more comfortable?

I own a 2002 Mille already. The riding position makes my long frame spread out across the length of the bike vs. having my legs right underneath me. On the Mille, my knees tuck right up into the gas tank cutouts, on the tuono, my knees are up another 2 inches (BTW, I have Satos on the Tuono and Mototeks on the Mille, I have tried stock, I have tried both on the Tuono to see where I can fit, pretty tough for a guy 6' 5"). I am actually quite concerned about the 2004 Mille because it is smaller (haven't been on one yet, will tomorrow). The 2003 is essentially the same bike as the 02 so I am confident in fitting on it. I use my XX for extended rides.

BTW, I actually have 4 dealerships within 400 miles talking to me about that trade, it is not so generous. They can still sell them for high $15's if not $16 in the shops (particularly to folks new to Aprilia).

Let me restate that, they believe they can sell them for high $15's if not $16 and I don't doubt it. In real life, with a Tuono R sitting in a dealership, I can easily see someone grabbing one for the "coffee table art" effect.

Plenty of HD riders out there with $$$$$ burning a hole in their pockets

Thanks Andre, it has been a blast trying to outspend you and Rustie6!!!! I still love my old sig. line "Keeping up with Rustie6's mods has me busier then a one legged man in an ass kicking contest!!!!" or something like that.

BTW, have you heard from that old man lately??? I haven't seen him around. Did he ever get his Gold Rims????

Funny how a trade in number drops when you change bikes!!! I am now working on an 03 Mille R instead of the Factory. Thus the numbers don't work anymore as my trade on the Factory was against Retail + Akrapovic Retail + Effort + everything else to get it out the door. Ended up being not what I wanted. So, now I am selling the bike outright again.

I need $14,500 to do my next deal. Anyone wants it, let me know. The trade will be less on an 03 making this a break even if sold outright (on tax, title...).

Squeak your dealer some more. He should know that he won't make money on this particular trade but what he will get is one more customer needed parts and maintenance. The wheels and few other spare parts are to drool for, but the originals may increase the value of the bike to a potential customer, if you still have them and you could sell those gold's for a pretty penny I'm sure.
