The exit pipe is the same, 20mm OD but might have a larger radius to it to accommodate the silencer.

The good news is the 3 bolt pattern is the same, 40mm across so the new silencer can be bolted to an older ZX pipe if you also order the hardware kit.

So, will the new and larger ZX-R silencer, in theory, make the older ZX pipe quieter?

Are you able to try that out, HG? An easy bolt-on mod like that would sure be very attractive to all ZX users in here.

What do you suggest the pricing of the silencer would be?

And, could you please verify if the roller/springs thats shipped with the euro Piaggio ZX-R is the same 5.1g/red clutch as the ZX did.

I remember you said stock derestricted Piaggio had 5.3, ZX shipped 5.1/red clutch and if you were at high altitude 5.0/red clutch would be a good starting poin when experimenting with rollers, right?
Aprilia SR50 Factory 2006 Piaggio "Purejet" (Norway)

Exhaust: Stock ATM, LeoVince ZX lying around (acc. improved, but top speed dropped more rapidly in wind&uphill)
Derestrictions: ECU (2.8.0) & Variator & air intake plate derestricted
    Speed/RPM: 80kmph@9000, 85kmph@9500, top 87kmph@9700. 78-85 on flat depending on RPM-momentum, wind etc.
    Spark-plug:
    - NEW! NGK ZMR7AP fixed the sputter, runs clean the whole rpm range! BUT slightly less "punch @WOT compared to the champion plug "
    - Original spark-plug (Champion), sputters when gliding at about 7000rpm. Runs beautifully @ WOT.

My LV ZX Piaggio came with 4.5s and red clutch.
I thought that was the norm.

I used to think 4.8 and red clutch spring was recommended, before HG posted THIS

What to order? 5.1g, 4.8, 4,5? Red clutch spring seems to be a common denominator, tho

    Well.....

Let me clear up some confusion that I just found out myself.

I remember posting the 4.8gr. post and even posted a pic of the package of rollers.
Even more recent I remember posting the 5.1gr post as I weighed the rollers myself since I did the work.

Well, here's the problem and no, my scale is not off.

That's just a wee bit of a difference... I can't believe that they are off by THAT much!! I mean .1 maybe... but .3?

I assume that they get the weights from another supplier and don't do much (if anything) for Quality Control...

Talking about Leo Vinci pipes, the thing I don't understand is how the pipe forms an effective seal against the engine exhaust outlet. When I removed the Leo Vinci S pipe that came with my '07, there was no gasket, simply some unusual "spring type material" wrapped around the outer edge of the pipe's inlet hole. How exactly does this stuff form a seal? It just doesn't look possible! And yet, I tried the pipe on my '02 and it worked fine, no leaks. So obviously , this spring-type material works, but I don't know how!

As far as I know, all that were shipped were first time performance pipe owners so I don't believe we will have any comparison data this round.

I received this in an e-mail today..... very interesting. This is a 2009 Piaggio

I really like it, it is not any louder than the original exhaust. I installed the exhaust and rollers and it improved the performance. Now I am getting 8.5 rpm on take off.

    No louder than the original.....
