    how do you start

new to the husky scene, and don't understand why my 2006 sm610 has two chokes? i understand the black choke is for cold but am i supposed to use the red one when the engine's hot? if its hot why do i need a choke at all?

my procedure is to use the black choke when cold, let it run for a while then pull out the red choke too. this makes the idle run high, then i push the black choke in and when i am ready to go i push the red choke in.

    how do you start?

I would guess one is hi idle and the other is a choke. I have a 09 sm610ie it only has hi idle. Try the Husqvarna cafe forum.

The red knob is probably the "hot start". Introduces a bit of cool air into the mix when trying to restart (after a fall?).
I beleive he is speaking of "cafehusky.com" It is a great Husqvarna informational site.
