I bought some used Showa forks for my bike but there was some pitting in the chrome (is it chrome or something else?) on the fork tubes. I was able to gently wet sand down some of the high spots with a very fine grit, but there is one spot where the finish is actually chipped off and is slightly raised up, which concerns me when thinking of the fork seal. Does anyone know of a place that refinishes fork tubes? I know about Ti Nitriding but I'm assuming that's expensive. Thanks for any help.
