    2008 Aprilia SportCity 250ie - Michigan

I hate to do it, but the time has come to sell my trusty SportCity 250ie so that I can upgrade to a motorcycle.

This is my daily driver for commuting from April through October. This scooter can go all day long at 70+ mph. I average 58 mpg on the expressway and up to 70 mpg on local roads.

All service work (except oil changes) has been performed by factory certified mechanic.

    Here are the details.

    • Purchased new in 2008
    • Around 15,000 miles (subject to change - it's my daily driver)
    • 4-stroke, fuel injected, liquid cooled, 244cc engine
    • 15-inch wheels
    • Twin 260mm stainless steel discs in the front, 220mm stainless steel disc in the back coupled to steel braided brake lines
    • Pinion gear replaced under warranty at 7,800 miles in 2009 due to faulty seal. No issues since.
    • New belt, rollers, sliders spark plug at 15,000 miles.
    • Valve adjustment done at 15,000 miles.
    • New Metzler me880 Marathon rear tire at 14,800.
    • Fresh oil/filter.
    • Gear oil replaced in late fall prior to winter storage
    • Garage kept & meticulously maintained
    • Wired for Gerbing's heated accessories.
    • Comes with, a spare set of 15g rollers, owners manual, service log, tool kit, and shop manual PDF.
    • Asking $2,700 or best offer

Images below. Check out my Flickr set for more images.

    Thanks for looking.

Plug for Gerbing's heated gear in trunk.

The SportCity 250 and BV250 share the same engine & transmission. (SportCity Cube may not share the same engine)

As the name implies, the Sport City is more sport oriented, with dual front disk brakes and phenomenal cornering ability. I've gone out with my friend who owns an old GSXR 1100, and had no problems keeping up with him in the twisties.

The BV250 is setup more as a touring type scooter with the integrated windshield and 16" wheels (SportCity has 15"). Higher pillion seat probably makes for slightly better 2-up riding.

Both are excellent scooters. Ride them both and decide which one best suits your lifestyle.

Thanks, that is more than I new. Looks like the 16 in., wheels would be better. and does have the windshield which is nicw when weather gets cooler. Dealer has both, about same price can't sell them since gas went down. Had a 150 scarabeo loved it, now I have a shiver best bike I have owned, just too tall. I have short inseam never had a bike I could touch grouns on good. Do not like cruisers. Thanks again

Ride the puppy out to eastern Oregon, bring cash, and I will take it in on trade for my 2008 Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport. Ride home in Guzzi heaven. The sport has about 900 miles. Too Big for me. I like riding my Beos better.
